So, you’re
engaged
You’ve found your venue, started booking your vendors and you are in the process of booking the photographer you’ve been oozing over for the past three years.
For us, it’s a no-brainer but for others, it can leave you undecided. We believe having an engagement photo shoot before the big day is not only a great opportunity to ‘try before you buy’, it’s more than that.
Here are three reasons
1. You get to know who you have chosen to be part of your wedding day.
Just like going through the guest list to decide who is or is not invited, getting to know your photographer is an integral part of your pre-wedding planning. Get that wedding planner out and schedule in a time to meet with your chosen photographer. Go over must do’s and don’ts for your wedding day and get to know who you’ll essentially be spending most of your day with. Your photographer will essentially become part of the family. They’ll be immersing themselves in the before, during and after celebrations on the day, capturing real life candid moments and oo-ing and aa-ing alongside the rest of the family.
2. You and you partner learn to feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
We get it, it’s a tough gig when you’re the star of the show. It’s hard to play celebrity whilst the paparazzi are swarming so it is important that your confidence shines throughout the day. You want to have fun and soak up the experience while forgetting that there is a camera pointed in your general direction. This day is about you as a couple and it’s easy to retreat when all eyes are on you. This should be your time to shine and to ensure everything goes off without a hitch (and for you to love your wedding album) a pre-wedding photoshoot is helpful in doing so.
3. You get to have fun, show your personality and create memories that will last.
Perhaps you wanted to use an image for your save the dates? Maybe you’re needing to update the artwork hanging on your walls?
By having an engagement photoshoot (however long you’ve been engaged) you will be left with amazing memories running around Cottesloe Civic Garden, picnicking along Matilda Bay, enjoying a Leighton Beach sunset or even walking through the isles in Ikea. Whatever your personality, whichever your location, there is always room for fun. So why not take this opportunity to put some time aside for the two of you and spend an afternoon relishing in the love you have for one another.
